A born and bred Capetonian, Romi is a graduate of the AAA School of Advertising. A background in art direction and work experience in commercial retail design for a local fashion chain was helpful in equipping her with an intimate understanding of the creative process and an appreciation for brand awareness.
This experience has, over the years, merged with a passion for fashion photography and seen Romi build a loyal client base that recognise her talent for capturing the essence of each brief and transforming these into inspirational images.
Romi’s fresh approach has recently won her the South African Levi’s campaign, a collaboration she enjoys for the freedom it affords her to shoot each assignment in her unique style. As with the majority of her clients, she is involved in every aspect of the shoot – from creative inception to the final edit.
Romi is thrilled to have been invited to take part in a prestigious charity auction, the proceeds of which will go towards helping to find and highlight the plight of missing children in South Africa. Her theme is based on Disney characters who, in the cartoons, often share the common link of being orphaned or missing. Being a mother to a young son makes this a project especially close to her heart.
